1. Why do we need to be careful with rice?

You wash your rice to remove the starch which has bacteria which will causes you to have  food poisoning Vomiting or diarrhea from bacillus cereus  

2. How does sushi vinegar reduce bacteria in rice?

Vinegar lower the PH to 4.1 killing any bacteria that might be in the rice

3. What is the name of the bacteria in the rice

Bacillus cereus that can causes food poisoning

4. Describe the  symptoms of someone with this type of food poisoning

How to make sushi

        Ingredients 

• 1 large Carrot 

• Soy sauce 

• 1 cup rice

• 3 Seaweed

• ½  cup of water 

• Salt 

• Sugar 

• ¼ cup of Vinegar 

1. Boil 1 cup of rice to ½ cups of water ( after boiled leave to simmer for 15 mins)

2. Cut up your vegetables into stick and meat into bits 

3. Add ¼ cup white vinegar, 1 sachet sugar and a sprinkle of salt to the rice when cooked (taste to check if its is not too salty or sweet

4. Lay down your sushi mat and put seaweed paper on the top

5. Lay out some rice, chicken and vegetables (cucumber, carrots )

6. Roll till the seaweed paper is covering the top and sides 

7. Then with a pastry brush wet the other end with water a roll the rest of the way

8. Cut in half then continue to cut into even pieces 

9. place on your serving tray

Leadership and Government

  This term we have been working on our leadership and government topic that we started in the first week of term 2. My perspective of leadership is that you have to be a role model for those who look up to you because no doubt they will follow your footsteps and try to do their best just like you. What does democracy mean to me? Democracy to me means that everyone has a say in what goes and the right to vote no matter how old you are.  Government to me means someone who runs the country, leads people and has a big part in the industry. These topics relate to each other because they  all have things in common like trying to make this country a better place to live in. These topics relate to NZ leaders because the leader of New Zealand is part of the government and every leader in NZ is rather a politician or in the government. The issue I complained about was that the road signs aren't big enough meaning people who are driving at a high speed won't be able to catch every leader on the sign and the potholes are way to big meaning that if a car hit the pothole, there's a chance that they might lose control which is dangerous. My overall view on this topic was that it was very informal but not my style and I don’t really like getting into political work.

Covid strains and vaccines

I am currently working with a buddy to create a science fair project and we are both working towards ccombinding our two topics together to make one project and because they both are relative to each other I thought it would be a great idea.

It is about this young man named  Nikau Munroe Rawiri he was put into hospital for putting a staple through his finger, as they were waiting they started scrolling through Facebook, after the hospital he heads straight up to the cemetery to mow the lawns he get the job over and done with he heads home, on his way home he sees this old lady mowing his lawn he goes past but he say to himself ir is a hot day, so he turns around to help her.


The key idea in the text - SEXY paragraph 
I think the key idea in this article  always help people that are always in need, for  exsaple  in the story the young man stop to help the old lady mow her lawn even though, he was running low on time.

What can we learn from the text? 
Even if your bruises always help your older never drive past people in need, always be positive and show respect.
For exsaple  I drive past your grandmother and she mows her lawns on a hot sunny day and I don't stop to help her  how you would feel.

Kiwi culture

 For the last past 10 weeks we have been working on kiwi  culture, something that has increased my understanding of kiwi culture, that its about u and your culture, the exciting part about kiwi culture was learning about about other culture and how they are different to  New Zealanders, this has help me appreciate other culture,identity,and heritage because with none of these we will not know who we are where we are from, so that is why I  appreciate other cultures and our identity,heritage.

Summer Learning Journey

Today we have been learning about Lorde or Ella. we were getting a fell of the Summer learning Journeying, my thought of the summer learning journey activities would be fun to do during the holidays, but one thing I will not have enough time in the holidays. but maybe for others it will be fun for others and they may have time to do the Summer Learning Journey.

experience of Te Rau Pou Manawa kpa haka

Wednesday the 6 of November  a group of us travelled down to support  Te Rau Pou Manawa. When I first walked in all I saw was the big stage. We walked up the the big stairs right to the top we climbed. When they  walked on I had goosebumps knowing that they were going to be good, as Tamarah walked on stage I yelled in my biggest voice go Tamarah! I was proud of all of my friends on stage. When they started singing  their first item I had tears in my eyes  because of how proud I felt.  After their performance we waited outside  to  haka tautoko them so they would know how proud of them we are. I saw  tears  in my  friends eyes when we were doing the haka. That was the best experience of my life.

Matariki

 Last week Wednesday started to  prepare  the hangi for Matariki day it was really fun I learnt how to cut onions properly into fine peaces, the easy part was cutting the potato and kumara,  the hard part was trying not to cry when I was cutting the onions, my next step will be to not to cut myself, but I really enjoy doing my job,  then we finally got to eat our hangi at the end and that how we celebrated our Matariki.

persuasive writing

Today day I  learnt the structure of persuasive writing, and wrote down a list of reasons for why we shouldn't have a animal as a  pet, I also learn how to write reasons and to back it up with a example, and how to have a opinion.   

Angels

This week we have been learning about angels, I think that I'm going good but i cloud do better, the easy part was drawing the line and the centre point, the hard part was trying to  get as much different angels, we also learnt some names for angels if it is less than 90* then it called acute and if it more then 90* and  less than 180* then it called obtuse. I found this learning really interesting to do but next time I'm gonna focus so I know more about angels.    

Thunder & Lightning

The last past few week we have been learning how to write a narrative my hard was my plan because i had to many option to pick from, my easy part was to bring my imaginary to life, my next step will be to add better language to my writing.

Thunder & Lightning

In a small sleepy town, down the hollow street there is  blue house, with a golden cat looking at the vivid sunshine, coming from the sky. Down the steps hearing a cat  meowing fiercely I pick it up,’’oh here you are you tricky cat, I have you been looking for you, where have you been? ‘’ I sit down and play with Tom.

A big storm seems to be heading this way. I check the forecast and it seems to be 20:00 minutes away, I think to myself we could go back  inside and rap up in a cosy,cushion blanket, or we stay out here for little bit. Sitting there with all the minutes flying past like flash running for victory, I check the time I holler  ‘’ 1:00 minutes left till the storm gets here’’ I pick myself up, flying up the stairs.

Suddenly lightning strikes the tree, the thunder BOOMS!, vibrating the windows shattering them into shards. I rush under the table role into a ball. BOOM! BANG! CRASH! The house tumbles down like rain dancing and tumbling from the sky, I hear everything falling from the wall. I get out from under the table, rush to my bedroom, slam on the brakes, ‘’Tom’’ I holler I look to the left, look to the right, see before my eyes Tom crushed under the big wall POOR TOM.

Orientation

This week I have been learning about narrative  but first we learnt how to write a orientation and our task was to write  about you turning into a cat,dog, the  hard part for me was trying to explain how i turn into a dog,   the easy part was doing my planing  and adding were it set place, my next step will be to go more deeper into my imaginations and to explain more detail.

Last week and this week we were learning how to write  metaphor and i found it very inserting to do it was really fun to make and the bit i found hard was picking my 18 worlds.

This week in math we have been learning about the solar system and how many times it can go around the sun.

This week we have been doing math and the math that we did was called worms, and this is how you do it you always have the head at the front, and the numbers that the body on plus the one that the heads on on add all off them up. like this 35,45,55,65 that is a examples of how to do it, I found this activity really fun to do hopefully yous try it.

Waka aerenga

on the 20\02\2019 me and my school went to Opua and learn about the waka witch is named Ngahiraka mai a tawhiti and also played a game learnt were areas are on the waka and they also told us when it was there first time on the waka and when they sealed across to Hawaii here a bit of photos when we were out there.
