Last week Wednesday started to prepare the hangi for Matariki day it was really fun I learnt how to cut onions properly into fine peaces, the easy part was cutting the potato and kumara, the hard part was trying not to cry when I was cutting the onions, my next step will be to not to cut myself, but I really enjoy doing my job, then we finally got to eat our hangi at the end and that how we celebrated our Matariki.
Kai ora Tuishaly, My name is Anyah from Paihia School in Te Ngahere. That's wonderful reading your post because reading the bit about the hangi made me hungry. At Paihia School we celebrate matariki to. What we do is walk to the beach watch the stars then have breakfast at school. Also we play games do art and have fun. How yum was the hangi?
